Cobra Network announces leadership transition as Jo Russell steps into lead role
Cobra Network, an award-winning network of independent insurance brokers, today announced that Jo Russell will succeed Andy Tedstone CEO as he departs PIB Group to take up a new role.
Jo Russell has worked at Cobra Network for the past six years, playing a pivotal role in shaping its strategy and growth. She brings extensive knowledge of the business and strong relationships with members, key insurer partners and suppliers.
Andy has led Cobra Network as CEO since 2019, having joined PIB in 2017 to oversee strategic insurer relationships and the Group’s broking and placement strategy. He has been instrumental in the network’s growth and success, building strong relationships and helping members benefit from the expertise and scale available through the network.
The transition takes place towards the end of another year of successful growth for the Network.
Jo Russell says:
“Cobra Network is at such an exciting phase in its growth journey, and I’m delighted to be leading the talented team forward. Over the past two decades the business has gone from strength to strength, and there’s still so much untapped potential as we scale. I would like to thank Andy for his leadership and contribution to Cobra Network and wish him every success in his next chapter. It has been a pleasure to work alongside him and help shape the business over the past six years.
“For our members, insurer partners and suppliers, it is very much business as usual. Our priorities are unchanged, and the good work already underway will continue. The partnerships we have developed across the team are central to our proposition and the support we provide. I look forward to building on those relationships.”
Ryan Brown, Chief Growth Officer, PIB Group says:
“Jo takes on the role at an exciting time for PIB Group, and her appointment reflects the strength of talent within our business. We are confident she will continue to build on Cobra Network’s success and play an important role in shaping the Group’s future.

Andy Tedstone says:
“Leaving Cobra Network has not been an easy decision. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. I leave knowing the business is in hugely capable hands. Jo has been instrumental in developing the network and knows the businesses inside out. I have every confidence that she and the team will build on our achievements and take Cobra Network forward.”
